tell me a little more about it, I read French mostly- English poetry (Leonard Cohen, Suzanne Vega) but I am reading Jimmy Buffet's "a salty peace of land".
It's ficton but semi-autobiographical. Written in first person--starts out as a young girl from Haiti who is sent by her grandmother to NY where her mother lives. I guess there's some Creole language. Kinda French.
